Feeding calves in the first days of their lives, and even immediately after birth, is crucial for their health and further development. The first milk – better known as colostrum – contains a considerably higher concentration of immunoglobulins and nutrients than regular cow's milk. It is important that the newborn calf immediately absorbs a large quantity of this high-quality colostrum. This can be colostrum from your own cows or a ready-made solution such as Excellent Colostrum (IBR-free) for calves.

We recommend that you always have a supply of frozen colostrum on hand. That way you will always have high-quality first milk available. If the quality of the colostrum after birth turns out to be insufficient (for example in heifers) or if too little is produced, you can fall back on this frozen supply.
