Product information

Ferti Grow is a mineral bolus for young cattle with a duration of 6 months. It is a mineral feed (dietary feed) designed to improve the growth, development and fertility of young cattle. It also reduces costs, allowing it to pay for itself. Ferti Grow has been researched and proven in practice, demonstrating its effectiveness.

The absorption and solubility of minerals from the diet for growing animals, such as young cattle, is often unstable. This can lead to an increased need for vitamins and minerals. Ferti Grow offers a guaranteed regular release of these important nutrients, which are perfectly absorbed by the body of young cattle.

The benefits of Ferti Grow are:

  • Optimises growth, development and fertility of young cattle
  • Contains 6 important minerals and 4 essential vitamins
  • Guaranteed controlled release per day
  • 6 months effectiveness
  • Labour-saving
  • Researched and proven
  • Nothing remains in the animal

Field research shows that the use of Ferti Grow boluses can lead to an improvement in fertility with regard to calving time in heifers. Compared to heifers that did not receive Ferti Grow boluses, heifers that did receive the boluses had a calving time of 722 days, while heifers without boluses had a calving time of 762 days. This means a difference of 40 days.

In addition, field research has also shown that the use of Ferti Grow boluses can lead to a reduction in the number of inseminations per number of probable conceptions. Heifers that received the boluses had a ratio of 1.00 insemination per probable conception, while heifers without boluses had a ratio of 1.75. This means a difference of 0.75 or 75%.

Finally, an improvement in the average growth of young cattle has also been observed. Heifers that received the Ferti Grow boluses had an average growth of 134 kg, while heifers without boluses had an average growth of 121 kg. That means a difference of 13 kg or 10%.

The recommended feeding advice is 2 Ferti Grow boluses per animal weighing 150 kg or more. The bolus slowly begins to dissolve on the flat side and the coating around the bolus ensures that the bolus gradually dissolves over a period of 180 days (6 months). Administering two boluses is necessary because young cattle have such a high need for trace elements and vitamins. In addition, the two boluses will touch each other, ensuring a constant release.

Why more and more farmers are choosing a mineral bolus:

Giving a mineral bolus to young cattle is an effective way to support the health of your livestock. Unlike powdered minerals, a bolus is inserted directly into the animal's stomach using a suitable bolus shooter, allowing the minerals to be released continuously for 6 months. This helps to maintain a constant mineral balance and prevent any deficiencies.

One of the advantages of using a bolus is that it is easy to administer. Instead of giving powdered minerals via the mouth, a bolus only needs to be given once. This saves time and reduces the risk of errors.

Another advantage of a bolus is the improved absorption of minerals. Because the bolus is administered directly into the stomach, the absorption of minerals is improved compared to giving powdered minerals through the mouth.

In addition, the use of a bolus leads to less contamination in the stable, as there is no loss of minerals through the base feed or the animal's behaviour.

One of the most important advantages of boluses is that they are not dependent on the animal's taste. This means that ingredients that are not very tasty but are necessary for maintaining the animal's health, such as certain minerals or vitamins, can be incorporated into the bolus without the animal being aware of it and without depending on whether the cow wants to eat it.

In summary, a mineral bolus offers many advantages for supporting the health of livestock, such as a continuous release of minerals, easy administration, better absorption, less pollution in the barn, and no dependence on the choice of ingredients because palatability is not relevant!
