Zoneguard warning sign

According to Wageningen University & Research, it appears that an estimated 12,000 cows are injured annually by eating tin cans, and about 4,000 die from it. In total, there are 3.8 million cattle in the Netherlands. This sign warns people not to carelessly throw away drink cans.

Use/placement

This sign should be placed every 50 metres along roads and cycle paths.

Important to know

Sharpness in cows can be prevented by fitting the cow with a stomach magnet. Caution ! Tin is not magnetic, which is why tin is so harmful to cows.
